Absentee/Phone Bidding

Absentee bids: If you are unavailable to bid on line, Kensington Estate Auctions will execute written bids on behalf of a buyer. Absentee bidders must provide all information requested below. Kensington Estate Auctions is not responsible for errors or failure to execute the written bid or for errors or omissions in connection with the written bid. Lots are bought for absentee bidders at the lowest possible price subject to other bids or reserves. Fill out, scan and email completed form to: [email protected].

Phone bids: If a bidder makes arrangements with Kensington Estate Auctions prior to the start of the sale, Kensington Estate Auctions will use reasonable efforts to contact them to enable them to participate in the bidding by telephone. Kensington Estate Auctions is not responsible for failure to contact bidder or for error and omissions in connection with telephone bidding.

Purchase: By bidding at the auction, the buyer assumes responsibility to pay the purchase price bid plus the buyer’s premium and applicable NYS taxes. Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to register any prospective bidder for any reason. Bidding is subject to a 24% on-line and 20% phone or absentee buyer’s premium.

Payment: Full payment in US dollars is due within (7) seven business days of the sale & includes the hammer price plus buyer’s premium. You will receive an invoice from Kensington Estate Auctions for full payment. Acceptable forms of payment, which must be on file before the date of sale, include certified bank check, wire transfer, MasterCard, Visa, Live.Payments or PayPal. Buyers who have established accounts with Kensington Estate Auctions prior to the auction may pay by check, bank check or money order.

Tax: Buyers are required to pay sales tax on the total sales price which includes buyers premium. All NYS resident buyers are subject to New York State Sales Tax of 8% unless the purchaser possesses a tax exemption number, which must be on file with Kensington Estate Auctions. NYS form ST-120 must be complete and on file.
